IS IT SAFE FOR ENAMEL?
Problems with enamel are associated with acidic and abrasive products. This gel is pH neutral, has no silica and has Xylitol which neutralizes the bacteria that causes plaque.

HOW LONG WILL MY TEETH STAY WHITE FOR?
This varies from individual to individual. It depends on how much staining and acidic foods you tend to consume, or whether you smoke or drink staining foods often. The effects of whitening can last 4-6 months or longer depending on your maintenance. 

HOW LONG SHOULD I REFRAIN FROM EATING STAINING FOODS?
At minimum, 24 hours. For optimal results it is advised up to 48-72 hours.

HOW OFTEN CAN I WHITEN MY TEETH?
Initial whitening and maintenance is detailed in all of our products.  This may very depending on the composition of the gel. Professional touch ups are recommended every 4-6 months.  Daily maintenance with our multi use pump can be done daily.

HOW WHITE WILL MY TEETH GET?
A number of factors determine results, including genetics and your starting shade. Almost all individuals depending on starting shade will see at least 2 to 8 shades. Additional sessions may be required to achieve your desired brightness. You may double up your session on the same day. 

CAN I WHITEN MY TEETH IF I AM PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING?
Although the whitening gels are considered safe for most people to use, studies have not yet been done on pregnant or breastfeeding women.  It is advised that you speak to your doctor first. I am happy to provide you with a list of ingredients. 

WHAT KIND OF GEL DO YOU USE TO WHITEN TEETH?
All whitening products that we use comes from a Canadian supplier and meet Canadian regulatory standards. Since I am a Dental Hygienist, I have access to the highest strength professional whitening gels on the market. The gel is a natural hybrid (carbamide and hydrogen) peroxide-generating compound proven to be effective, safe and gentle on your teeth. Please see the ingredients page for more details.

WILL MY TEETH BE SENSITIVE?
There is virtually no sensitivity with this product. A small percentage of people will have minor gum discomfort and this typically dissipates in less than 10 minutes. With the Diamond and Platinum sessions, a gum barrier is applied prior to the session to protect your gums. I have extra barrier should you wish for the Crystal Session. 

WHAT ABOUT BONDING, CROWNS AND VENEERS?
All of these stain over time through normal eating and drinking. This gel will not harm any of these and will remove the stains that have accumulated over time. Be advised bonding, crowns, veneers and bridges will NOT whiten past their original colour. Please consult with me to determine which gel is best for you.
Note: If you are planning to have anterior composite bonding, veneer, crown or bridge work done, it is a good idea to whiten before the procedure.

WHO SHOULD NOT WHITEN THEIR TEETH?

Anyone that has active decay or active periodontal disease where the whitening gel is applied, should not whiten their teeth. Please consult with me if you need help determining this. I am happy to provide a complimentary virtual consult.
